Nice Jam Logo

A short film at just under 2 minutes, Nice Jam goes to show how something as simple as Jam, can break the boredom of a dull and dismal day, shared by dull and dismal people. Filmed in only 2 afternoons, it then took an additional 2 weeks to edit because of it's complex visual effects.

Nice Jam was written and directed by Phil Wainman, with co-direction and camera work by Claire Dunne. The actors were Keith Wilcock, Joe Ogden and Phil Wainman.

Keith Wilcock
Mr K. Dull

Stage and Film actor Keith Wilcock, after playing the Monster in 'It Came From Somewhere Else' expressed a wish not only to have a speaking part, but also to have a part which didn't involve wearing a mask. Playing the lead role Keith proved to have more than one side to his personality.

Phil Wainman
Mr P. Dull

It was hard work, but Phil just about managed to dress up in dodgy old gear and become extremely dull. It was suggested by some people, that maybe Phil seemed a little too comfortable in his old clothes and did spend a lot of time enjoying dried up pieces of toast.

JoeDot
Mr J. Dull

Poet and Writer JoeDot played the trendy guy of the group. Wearing his 'only out of date by thirty years', seventies gear, he believes that no one ever notices that his sunglasses have been fixed with a sticky plaster. His other hobbies are predicting the weather without looking out of the window.

Toast and Jam

The Toast and the Jam. What can I say, they go together like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Always nice, as British as an Indian Curry, it is the number one choice of afternoon snack in the Dull household.

Sudden and Unexpected Change in Reality

Disembodied heads, flying toast and strange double-vision lapses into negative. What exactly does causes this sudden and unexpected change in reality? Has reality really changed or is it simply Keith's perception? Well, whatever the answer, one thing is for sure, it has something to do with the jam.
