A Wiccan Scorned

Horror - short film at just over 2 minutes.
When a young woman gets her heart broken by a man, who was coldly having fun before moving on to the next girl, her tears soon turn to thoughts of revenge. Not realising that the woman is actually a powerful practising Witch, he soon finds his bed is no longer the safe place he thought it to be.
Produced, Written, Directed, Acted, Filmed and Edited by just the two of us - Phil Wainman and Angela Bancroft. We wanted not only to work on our first joint project together, but also to prove that we had the skill to do everything ourselves.

Angela Bancroft
Powerful Wiccan
As a practising Wiccan herself, Angela was not only perfect for the part, but also helped design the whole look of the film, from costumes, set design and props, right down to the smallest details and use of imagery. Although Angela would never use Wicca practises for anything other than good, she clearly enjoyed tapping into the darker side of her imagination. This film was Angela's on-screen acting debut.

Phil Wainman
Heartless Womaniser
After a hard day of writing and directing, Phil felt that he deserved a little nap. But don't get too comfortable, as Angela is about to enter your nightmares, impale spiked chains through your chest, set fire to your hand and finally stitch your mouth closed. How Phil suffers for his art.

Casting Spells
When Night-time falls, out come the candles, herbs, spices, magical stones and charms, ready for our angry Wiccan to invoke the dark forces. Like they say; 'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned'.

Spontaneous Combustion
That's odd, my hand doesn't usually set on fire like this. And after such nightmares too.

That Looks Sharp
When you wake up to see this, you know that it's not just cross-stitch she has in mind. Chances are, this is going to really hurt.

Oh, Do Shut Up
If you can't open your mouth without being dishonest, then maybe you should keep it closed - permanently. I've also tied your hands together for good luck.

Blood Moon
When darkness is invoked, the balance of nature becomes displaced, and even the moon can seem to run red with blood.
